Air quality reported by a station miles away rarely reflects what's actually happening on-site. An Air Quality / Particulate Matter sensor measures PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 particulate matter directly where you need it, feeding into myRanch alongside your other real-time telemetry. PM10 and PM2.5 readings are converted to a color-coded Air Quality Index using the same thresholds the EPA uses, so it's easy to tell at a glance when conditions are reaching unhealthy levels — and you can subscribe to alerts the moment they cross a threshold.

Common Questions
Particulate matter at four size thresholds — PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10 — reported in micrograms per cubic meter. PM10 and PM2.5 are also converted into a color-coded Air Quality Index using EPA thresholds, so you don't have to interpret raw µg/m³ numbers yourself.
An RM400 or RS130 fitted with an A1 sensor attachment board. It does not connect to RS330, and it can't be added through a standalone RS10 or RX20 setup — the A1 board lives on the RM400/RS130 unit itself. If your site only has RS330 or RX20 hardware, you'll need an RM400 or RS130 with an A1 board added before this sensor will work there.

No. It's built for wildfire smoke, but it also picks up dust and other airborne particulate matter from field operations or nearby activity year-round, wherever local, on-site conditions matter more than a regional reading.
It complements it. Public sources like AirNow.gov are useful for regional context, but their nearest station can be miles from your property. This sensor gives you a real, local reading for the actual site you're responsible for.
