Telemetry

Hardware built for the field

Five telemetry (telematics) units cover every property size — from a single solar-powered RS130 watching one tank, to a mesh network of RS330 units spanning a multi-block ranch. All of them speak the same language: Ranch Cloud™ and the myRanch app.

Telemetry units

Three nodes, one platform

Each unit reads sensors, logs data, and connects to myRanch — the difference is how much they control and how far they reach.

Monitoring & Control Unit

RM400

The flagship controller — telemetry, data logging, and valve control for up to 48 valves in one unit.

RM400 monitoring and control unit

The RM400 is an advanced telemetry node, data logger, and valve controller capable of reading data from a variety of sensors and uploading it to the Ranch Cloud™ platform. It's built to be the backbone of your monitoring and control system, with a built-in display and keypad for in-field configuration, valve control, and data readout — plus advanced configuration over a cabled PC connection or the myRanch™ app.

RM400 can control up to 48 valves* and accepts multiple sensor input types, including sensors connected via the RS10 Bluetooth® Transmitter. In the myRanch app, build fully automated irrigation programs — optimized for the shortest run time and dynamically adjusted for real-time conditions.

Optional Expansion
  • Cellular modem with AGPS
  • Up to 48 solenoid control outputs via stackable 12-port expansion boards
  • Sensor input expansion board

RS130

A self-contained, solar-powered field node for a single site — soil moisture, weather, tanks, or pumps.

RS130 cellular telemetry unit

The RS130 is an advanced telemetry node and data logger capable of reading data from a variety of sensors and uploading it to the Ranch Cloud™ platform. The unit is focused on ease of use, with a built-in OLED display and infrared remote control for in-field configuration and data read-out.

RS130 doesn't have built-in Bluetooth®, so it pairs with the RS10 Bluetooth® Receiver when you want to add wireless sensors via the RS10 Transmitter.

RS330

Standalone over cellular, or linked into a RanchMesh™ network for large or cellular-poor properties.

RS330 cellular or mesh telemetry unit

The RS330 is an advanced telemetry node, data logger, and equipment controller capable of reading data from a variety of sensors and uploading it to the Ranch Cloud™ platform.

RS330 can function as a standalone unit or as part of a multi-node RanchMesh™ network. The standalone unit includes a cellular modem that communicates directly with Ranch Cloud. A RanchMesh network is the better fit for areas with limited cellular coverage, or for large installations spanning multiple locations — a base station communicates with Ranch Cloud and the local mesh, while router and end nodes relay through it to extend range past line-of-sight or terrain limits.

Optional Expansion
  • DC latching relay expansion board (up to 4 control outputs)
  • Sensor input expansion board (up to 4 inputs)
  • Serial communications expansion board (RS-232 + RS-485/SDI-12)
  • RS10 Bluetooth® Receiver, for use with the RS10 Transmitter

Go wireless with RS10

Not every sensor needs a cable run — connect wirelessly, then add a receiver to any telemetry unit without built-in Bluetooth®.

RS10 wireless sensor transmitter
Sensor Transmitter & Data Logger

RS10

A compact, solar-powered Bluetooth® transmitter that connects to SDI-12 sensors and relays data up to 1,000 ft.

RS10 wireless sensor transmitter

The RS10 is a compact, self-contained sensor interface using Bluetooth® long-range, ultra-low-power wireless technology. With RS10, equipment installation is no longer constrained by cabling — place sensors where needed and connect them wirelessly to a host unit up to 1,000 ft away (typically up to 350 ft with trees or foliage in the way). It connects directly to RM400 (built-in Bluetooth®), or to RS130 and RS330 via the RS10 Receiver.

RS10 works two ways. As a telemetry transmitter, it feeds sensor data to a host unit (RM400, RS130, or RS330) for real-time upload to Ranch Cloud™. As a standalone data logger — no host unit or cellular connection required — it stores readings locally and you pull data on-site via Bluetooth®, sold and configured under the RanchDL brand.

RS10 Receiver
Sensor Data Receiver

RS10 Receiver

Adds Bluetooth® connectivity to any telemetry unit that doesn't have it built in, powered by the host unit.

RS10 Receiver

The RS10 Bluetooth® Receiver is a compact, self-contained external modem for telemetry units that don't have built-in Bluetooth®. Powered by the host telemetry unit, it lets that unit sample sensors connected via the RS10 Bluetooth® Transmitter & Data Logger — giving growers more options for upgrading or expanding an installation with wireless sensor connectivity.

RM400 has Bluetooth® built in and doesn't need a receiver. RS130 and RS330 both support the RS10 Receiver to add that connectivity.

Why the hardware holds up

Built for the field, not the showroom

Outdoor-rated & solar-powered

Impact-resistant, UV-stabilized enclosures with onboard solar charging keep units running unattended through heat, dust, and weather.

Cellular, WiFi, or mesh — your choice

Connect a single node over cellular, or link multiple units into a RanchMesh™ network when coverage is limited or a site is large.

Modular expansion as you grow

Add relay boards, sensor inputs, or serial ports later — the same patented platform scales from one tank to a farm-wide network.
